We are committed to keeping your information private and recognize the importance all customers place on the privacy and confidentiality of their information.

Your identification, personal and business financial information is never sold, loaned or otherwise distributed to any agency, company or person(s) for any purpose without your written consent. The tax return information that we collect is used strictly for lawful purposes and is never shared with federal, state or other taxing authorities without your consent, except as required by law.


Please note, that if your return were under audit or investigation by the Internal Revenue Service, or any relevant state tax department or department of revenue, I am obliged to cooperate with any audit or other investigative matter to provide information about your tax return or its preparation. This does not mean I offer more information than they request, but it does mean I cannot withhold information if so requested.

Our Commitment to Data Security
While new technologies allow us to more efficiently serve our clients, we are committed to maintaining the rigorous privacy, ethical, and the latest security standards that are available. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Transmitting Information
When transmitting information between you and our server, we strongly recommend using your private computer and email service and not a work related account as your employer may be required to archive and store all email communications. Since these communications may contain personal and sensitive information and could make it available to persons whom you may not want to view it.

When electronically filing your returns the IRS requires us to provide the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer from which the return originated, as well as the e-mail address of the person who electronically filed the return.

The Information We Collect
This section applies to all information collected or submitted on our web site through form submission or email. The information is used only to communicate with you and will never be shared, sold, or rented to anyone. The following Information is collected when using forms or email links on our site:

  1. Type and version of your web browser
  2. Internet Protocol address of the service provider you are using
  3. Operating system information about the computer you are using

 

The Way We Maintain Your Information
Our firm is required to keep your returns and all relevant information about your returns for three years. After we have processed your returns all documents are scanned into a digital format, encrypted, and archived in redundant backup systems. At this time we will also return to you any original documents provided or if you provided copies they will be destroyed by shredding. Any information you provide in electronic format will be encrypted and archived with your other data.

 

We will maintain the digital records of your tax years for a minimum of five years. It is our intention to keep them indefinitely provided the cost to do this does not become prohibitive. We would be happy to provide you with a compact disk containing these digital records if you desire.
